A handsome pair of literary bookends. The antique, cast iron bookends made by Bradley and Hubbard feature two different quotes. Both feature the north wind blowing and pretty art nouveau vines, circa 1925.

The Francis Bacon quote says, "Reading Maketh A Full Man, Writing An Exact man, histories Make Men Wise, Poets Witty"

The Samual Johnson says "Books That You May Carry To The Fire And Hold Readily In Your Hand Are The Most Useful After All: -Johnsonia

The heavy bookends measure 6 7/8" tall by 6" wide by 3 1/4" deep. They are both in very good antique condition with scratching and an overall antique patina with evidence of age. Felted bottoms.

A delightful addition to the library!
