The Living World Pedi-Perch is a non-toxic, cement perch for birds that helps trim and maintain blunt, well-groomed nails. The multi-grip, wavy surface promotes healthy circulation and helps prevent arthritis & atrophy. In addition, it also helps clean and condition the bird's beak.
How to Use
The Pedi-Perch is best installed at or near the bird's food dish with the smooth side facing upward. This is where the bird will spend short amounts of time on the perch, as well as rolling their nails on the perch and wiping their beak. A Pedi-Perch should never be the highest perch in your bird's cage. At Exotic Wings we recommend just one Pedi-Perch per cage, with a maximum of two (one at food, one at water). Always have a variety of perches in the cage to prevent foot problems, such as bumble foot. Monitor the health of your bird's feet regularly.
Maintenance
To clean, scrub Pedi-Perch under water with soap. Ensure that it is completely dry before putting it back in the cage. Pedi-Perches are highly durable and may last several years, however, if you notice cracks or excessive wear, it may be time to replace your bird's Pedi-Perch
Note: Bird feet should wrap about ⅔ around the perch and should not meet or overlap.
