With the porro prism configuration you get a richer depth of view as well as more surface area for a comfortable grip. The higher 16x magnification allows an immersive observation experience whether for whale or comet watching. The larger objectives add weight which can cause fatigue or shakiness and so to aid long observation sessions the binocular can be mounted on a tripod using an optional adapter.
